Some recent pieces were made especially for an event held by the Silicon Valley Symphony Orchestra. Some symphony-related images were printed over some pieces and the results were sort of mixed.

There were three separate types of printing techniques used and the surfaces that were printed on were widely varied. 

Another small handful of pieces were done using an image transfer technique and then hand-painted and colored afterward. 

Still, the experimentation is a bulk of the fun and the results are okay too. I think.

In preparation for SubZERO Festival I made sure to scan all of the pieces that were being shown. I'm just now getting around to cropping them and all the rest.

This is batch one of many. 

Scanning is a total drag.

Some of the more recent sets were done with the idea that they'd be really simple. I have been working on this project with the Silicon Valley Music Festival and have been producing some pieces that eventually lend well to the idea of music. 

Some of the pieces produced for this side project will be printed over with linocuts of different images relating to the symphony performances where I painted on site. You can see what I'm talking about HERE.

So some of these things were intended to be completed just to a point and they'd be finished by adding some additional graphic elements to them later on. 

But in looking over some of the sets I just kind of like them as they are. They feel a lot more delicate than a whole lot of the super-vivid graphic stuff that has been some unintentional theme for me over the last few months.

So I'm going to the print studio tonight and taking a lot of these with me. Not sure if I'll print over them or not.

Although some of the more bold pieces I know are as finished as they're ever going to be.

No kidding. If you're in the area and you don't come down to SubZERO Festival this weekend you're seriously missing out. [And it's two days this year. Friday and Saturday.]

The monumental checklist for the upcoming show at subZERO Festival is looking a lot less intimidating right now. There are just a few little things to accomplish in the morning before heading down to San Jose to get the whole show set up. At last count the project has officially reached painting number 324,704. Some of the pieces being completed over the last couple of weeks are turning out to be pretty nice too. It's almost as if after all of these years I'm getting kind of good at all of this.
