Hello.
The One Thousand Thousand project is the most recent collaborative effort from artists Jason McHenry and Christopher Dyer, whose past endeavors have included 52 Weeks and Holy Mackerel Press amongst others.
The long and the short of it is that we are making one million individual pieces of art. We're doing each one individually by hand.
A good place to get the full scoop is our ABOUT page. It'll give you a pretty decent overview of the whole thing.
There's not a giclee print in the whole entire lot. Not to say that's some good or bad thing but only to affirm that these are all done by hand. It's art the old school way that makes a total mess of your hands and just destroys your school clothes that your mom told you to never get dirty.
The project is getting pretty freakin' close to reaching the 300,000 point and after about a decade of banging these things out it feels like we're on track to actually finish this project in about a year or so. [Or ten.] We're also putting together a page for some Frequently Asked Questions and you can try the FAQ page sometime.

Shop
Want to own some of these pieces? We're pretty positive we can accommodate you. The SHOP section is where you may eventually be able to purchase some of the pieces as well as links to other places where they may be available. [Online or otherwise.] Aside from any gallery showings our SHOP section is also the place where we will be offering some of the more limited sets that have been produced.
Shows and Stores and Representation
Thousands and thousands of the most recent entries from the project will be on display at the
Spirit Gallery in Bisbee, Arizona from March 19-April 16. An opening
reception with the artists will take place Friday, March 19th
starting at 6pm through 1AM. Music provided by Mr. Will
Elliott and his gang.
The Spirit Gallery is open from Noon to 6PM every Saturday and Sunday.
Additional shows in Tucson, Denver, and St. Louis are being coordinated for the summer and fall months in 2010.
