A Collaborative Edition Limited to One Million New Original Works on Paper
So we're answering some of the more common questions that people tend to have and we'll post them here in the future.
If you have a question about any of this you are hugely welcome to send it along and we can include it here.
A: Of course this is the first question we get asked and is the most common for sure. And if you already understand that we do these things by hand and that they are all original pieces then you can move on. If not, then you should rest assured that we are doing these all by hand.
Each individual painting is original. We aren't printing anything or copying anything and we're using our own two hands for each and every one. About the only real mechanical thing about this body of work is that we did end up buying an automatic number stamp to more easily allow us to document each and every piece we produce. This is a relatively new addition though.
A: It's just the Roman numeral for one million. An 'M' with a bar on top of it. The circle part is just a circle.
A: We have loads and loads of proof. McHenry is a compulsive diarist and has been keeping a journal for decades. He has documented his own life to such a degree that in very many instances he is able to tell you exactly what he had for lunch on some day in 1987.
We scan or photograph or video each and every single piece we create for this edition and we've assigned each piece a unique serial number to keep track. There are databases involved.
A: What, is there an owl in the room?
